Frequently Asked Questions

Classic lashes are applied with a ratio of one artificial lash to each mature natural lash. This gives a more natural, enhanced look and most people don't even know they aren't real.

Volume lashes create a more dramatic look. The lash artist creates a custom fan between 3-10 lashes. This fan is then attached to a healthy natural lash creating a more full effect.

Hybrid lashes are a combination of the two styles to create a blended look somewhere in the middle.

What is the difference between classic and volume?

No. When applied by a highly-trained, licensed and certified lash artist, extensions won't damage your natural lashes. Extensions are hand selected and placed for their proper weight and length for each individual lash and the amount of adhesive used is undetectable. Once your natural lash is ready to shed, the extension that was placed on your lash naturally sheds also so there is no pulling or breakage,

In addition, many become healthier as a result of wearing eyelash extensions because there is no need to wear mascara, curl their lashes or wear strip lashes anymore. All can be very damaging to lashes.

"Lash artists" are not always licensed or certified. They don't properly isolate (lashes glued together) or they're applying lashes that are too heavy. They may also be using cheaper, low-quality products increasing the chances for an allergic reaction and irritation.

Proper home care is also essential in maintaining the health of your natural lash. Pulling, rubbing or failing to properly clean your lashes on a regular basis will contribute to the overall health of your lashes.

What is the difference between classic and volume?

Results will differ based on daily activities and general after-care and ultimately affect how long your extensions last. When applied properly, your extensions should last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes, which can be up to two months. However, each lash is on its own shed cycle and the average person loses between 3-5 lashes per day. This is why it is recommended for a fill every 2-4 weeks.

What is the difference between classic and volume?

Extensions should be removed by a licensed professional with a solvent designed specifically to remove extensions in a safe way. It is a quick and painless process.

You can also wait for your natural lash cycle to complete and have the extensions fall off naturally but keep in mind this will start to look very sparse and unsightly towards the end. The main thing is to avoid attempting to remove them yourself. This will result in your own lashes being pulled out also and can cause damage to your natural lashes.

*Don't rub or pick at your lashes.
*Don't touch your lashes. Use a spoolie to brush them.
*Avoid sleeping on your stomach.
*Avoid oil-based products or waterproof eye makeup.
*Schedule regular fills with at least 50% remaining.
*Use a lash cleanser daily (wash again after sweating, swimming, crying, etc to remove chlorine, salt, sweat and oils)
*Avoid intense heat exposure (hot oven, campfire, grill, etc)
*Don't use mascara. If you feel the extensions aren't dark or thick enough, we can fix that. Mascara on bottom lashes is okay.
*Don't use an eyelash curler. This will break the extensions.

What is the difference between classic and volume?

Yes.

Normal use of makeup is fine but you want to avoid any oil-based or waterproof formulas. It is also very important that you properly remove the makeup and cleanse the eye area every night. Failure to do so will cause a build-up of debris and premature shedding. When cleansing the eye area of makeup, be sure to focus the cleanser at the base of the lashes. This is where the debris tends to collect.

What is the difference between classic and volume?

If you have never had eyelash extensions before, it is highly recommended that you get a full set 2-3 weeks before the event and then a fill 2-3 days before for a couple of reasons.

First, if you happen to have any reactions or sensitivities, it is best to find that out well in advance of the event so as not to negatively impact your day.

Second, its hard to know exactly what look you want to achieve as well as what look your lashes can support. This is discussed during the consultation and we'll attempt the perfect set the first time but as you get used to them, you may decide you want to make some adjustments and this will give you a chance to do so before the day.

If you are well acquainted with lash extensions and not concerned about potential reactions or styling options, timing is completely up to you!

What is the difference between classic and volume?

In short answer, yes.

Assessment of your previous lash work will determine if we will be able to perform a fill. At the beginning of every lash service we go through the lashes to clean up any lashes that are overgrown, starting to lift, stuck together, etc. If this results in less than 50% retention or if the previous application used too much glue, didn't properly isolate or used a length and weight too heavy for your natural lash, we will need to perform a removal and schedule a full set.

The health of the natural lash is extremely important and we cannot provide a service that results in anything short of perfection.
